(gentle music) – I’m Dr. Susan Sgambati. I am a colorectal surgeon
here at Rose Medical Center. I have been at Rose for 17 years. My training is both in general surgery and colorectal surgery. I am Fellowship trained at the Mayo Clinic in colorectal surgery and
did a three-year Fellowship in colon cancer research
at Yale University. I am also the Chair of the
Department of Surgery at Rose, and I have been for the past eight years. The specialty of colorectal
surgery is, generally speaking, aimed at avoiding permanent colostomies, which is very important when we’re dealing with rectal and anal cancers. My practice philosophy is
to provide individualized care to patients, but yet
collaborative with all the caregivers that are providing
services for the patient. (gentle music)
